4 Types of Homes

Single Family Homes

These are the homes where only the Fences are shared with the neighbors.  Typically, these homes come with some decent size back, side & front yards.  Depending upon how old / new the community is, there could be either no monthly HOA at all or low HOA.

Many times you would come across even custom built homes as well.

Duets

Very rare to find. You would find two homes constructed together.  These homes have only one wall sharing.  That means, the other side is always open and so, it makes both the homes corner units.  You would find that both the homes have some back yard, side yard and front yard.   The fences are shared.  Typically the Duets come with monthly HOA.

Town Homes

These are PUDs where you won the land.  Some times, these are also called as Row Homes.  You would see 8-10 units constructed in a row in the same building.  All the homes are attached to each other.  The traditional Town Homes are 2 story homes with the Living and Kitchen on the 1st floor and the Bed Rooms located on the 2nd floor.  The corner units usually fetch more value because you would be having neighbor only on one side of the house.

Condos

Just like an apartment, you will find neighbors above you or below you or on either sides or in front or back of your property.  You don’t own the land in Condos.   The HOA retains the ownership of the land.  All the Home Owners have equal rights on the common area.
